Our profile

Hello my name is sandra bailey.
I started my sewing career when i left school in nottingham making clothes for a chainstore.I did that until i started my family which consists of 5 children.

On returning to work i continued as lockstitcher making leisure wear.I furthered my career by becoming a multi machinist. The firm i worked for merged with another company where i met pat.Being disillusioned with working for other people pat and i decided to set up our own business from pats home in loughborough.

Pat freer started her career as a lockstitcher making school uniforms. She then trained as a cutter and went to college for 2yrs to train in garment manufacture and pattern cutting. She then worked as a knitwear cutter before taking a career break to have her 2 children.
On returning to work she worked in childrens wear, sportswear, knitwear, babywear and bridal wear. She also cut and machined upholstery.

When jill glover left school she began training as a multi machinist making childrens underwear and pj's for mothercare. After finishing her training she then moved on to a company making fitted sheets and bus and train seat covers. She then took time off to start her family of 2 children.

She did rosso seaming for a sock company part time until the children went to school. She then worked for towles hosiery as quality control until being made redundant.Jill bought some machines and went self employed doing contract work for a mutual business associate. We all became friends and decided to bring all our expertise together and rented a unit.Thats how baileyfreerglover began.
